Popularity of FFV (Flex-Fuel Vehicles)?

I've been doing some research on Flex-Fuel Vehicles, and E85 fuels. By reading what I have (news articles, etc.), it seems like a really good thing for the consumer and environment. With the support of many consumers, farmers and politicians, why is it that so few E85 stations exist? According to www.e85fuel.com, there is only 1 E85 station in my state! Doesn't this limit the buying power of FFVs?

Popularity of FFV (Flex-Fuel Vehicles)?
the biggest problem for flex fuel vehicles is, the lack of energy in the fuel. If you do a cost per mile study it is still cheaper to run regular gas then the E85. So until the price of gas goes up and the cost of alcohol comes down it is not a cost effective fuel
