When you hear "Organic" or "Natural"?

How can you describe your interpretation of Organic and Natural foods and products? In your own words, describe what you first think or feel, when you see/hear the words “Organic or Natural.” I’m doing some research for my marketing class on the effectiveness of advertising of the Organic Food market, and need some help from others to illustrate my thoughts. I need to advertise this idea and want to really grasp the attention of my consumer (professor) and just need some descriptive words/thoughts/phrases of what you believe describe the Organic Industry

When you hear "Organic" or "Natural"?
expensive.

healthy.

safe.

good for the environment.

local.

sometimes, crappy tasting.

better than other things.

Although not all of these are based in truth.
Reply:I believe that it means foods produced without fertilizer or other pesticides etc.

I think that it should only include cow dung as fertilizer.
Reply:Organic means raised without antibiotics, artificial fertilizers, or chemical additives. "What does organic mean? To earn the U.S. Department of Agriculture's organic certification, the land must be free from prohibited substances such as synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and other potential toxins for at least three years."
Reply:I do not believe that you can truly BUY anything natural or organic. To me, organic means pure and clean and nothing that you buy anywhere is pure or clean You can GROW pure and clean yourself and walk it into your kitchen. No gas fumes from transport, no radiation (which is allowed to be marketed as Organic) to enhance color and no government safety "regulations or guidelines" pushed on the label. Simple - organic and natural - PURE AND CLEAN!
Reply:When I hear the word organic, I think earthy.
Reply:Neo-hippie
Reply:To me this means grown and sent to market in an environment that is free from man made preservatives and chemicals. That means free range chickens (provided the range is not in a toxic area). Fruits and vegetables that are not sprayed with toxic sprays and have been grown in a non toxic environment.
Reply:I get very skeptical.
Reply:when i look for organic food i also look for them to be kosher approved. When it is kosher approved it seems that it is more along the guidelines of what organic should be. Most things that are labeled aroganic arent necessarily meeting all the guidelines they should they only have to meet a certain number of them by my understanding.
Reply:expensive and is the same as the other ones
Reply:natural just means it has organic ingredients but it can still have surger corn syrup ext. organic is the healtheist
Reply:When I hear Organic I think YAY! Good for me good for the environment. When I hear Natural I think of unbleached paper bags. I dont get as good of health rush from hear natural as I do from organic.
