Vacuum ???

I have done alot of research on upright vacuums, according to consumer reports the top pick is Hoover Wind tunnel self propelled ultra u6436-900. Anyone have any other opinion on this one?

Vacuum ???
I used to love Hoover vacuums until I came across the Dyson. Now I have a Dyson Original vacuum. I absolutely love it!! The Animal Turbo Tool came with mine as a special promotion at the store and it's awesome!! I have 2 pets that shed like crazy and I've never had a problem with mine! It's such a good vacuum!!

And while we are talking vacuums - I use my swivel sweeper all the time...

See ya.
Reply:I've been repairing vac's for over 30 years, having spent 8 years travelling two states, visiting over 25 branch offices of a major vacuum manufacturer, teaching repair and paperwork techniques. I now own and operate my own shop, where I repair every make and model possible, and I can tell you from experience, I see less WindTunnel, (Hoover), machines in for repair than any other make in the price range. I do at least a dozen Bissell's a week, as well as Dirt Devil's, (Royal), and just about every other make under the sun, sold for less than $200. I wouldn't own a bagless machine, I think they're a waste of time, and FYI, there are NO filterless vacuums. Believe me they all have filters, even the infamous Dyson, which says it doesn't. I have a list of 5 different filters for that particular make. I have customers that swear by and at just about every make you can mention. What you like your neighbor won't, what they like, the fellow down the road won't, etc., etc. Unfortunately, once you take it home and put it together and run it on your carpet, unless there's something missing, or it's already broken, you own it. Best to go to a decent vac shop and ask to test drive several different machines, maybe even get their take on which ones seem to last longest and work best. We've personally been using an Electrolux for over 20 years, (same machine), and it's still got as much suction as when we got it used.
Reply:I had a Hoover wind tunnel and after a few years it no longer did a good job. It seemed to get clogged after just a couple of rooms. My house is cleaned very often so that was not the problem. Sometimes to the extent of obsessive. Anyway, when I did the research I was very interested in the Bissel Healthy home and the Dyson Absolute pet. I ended up buying the Dyson and so far I am very happy with it. It does a great job. We have two short haired small dogs and it picks up all the tiny hairs they leave on the floor. I can already see an improvement on my carpets. It does such a better job than the Hoover. Good luck on your decision. The best way is go to a place that will let you try each model.
Reply:Before you buy, take a look at the Bissel Healthy Home. This is by far the best vacuum that we have every owned. I whole heartily trust consumer reports, but they don't test all makes %26amp; models. We bought their #1 rated vacuum last time, but I didnt think it was that great (Sears Direct Drive something). This vacuum is bagless, but filterless too, so there is no mess when empying. It is designed like the Dyson, but lots of people said it was better when I did my research. You wont believe how much this thing picks up EVERYTIME. Especially if you have pets. You can normally find it for $249.00, but I have seen it on sale a Circuit City for $199
Reply:I'm no help to you...the last Consumer Report I saw ( about a month ago ) said Eureka was the best for your $
Reply:I totally agree with "areyouse " the bissel is the best on the market We also have one after many many hoovers that didn't do the job.
