Online Poll - HD DVD vs. Blu Ray?

I'm taking a poll right now to see if the average consumer knows the difference between HD DVD and Blu Ray. (Yes or No) If your answer is yes, please write what you know.

Additional question:

Which would you buy - HD DVD or Blu Ray?

Note: Please do not do any research before answering this question, or copy and paste. This is based on the consumer's first reaction to the product.

Thanks for your response!

Online Poll - HD DVD vs. Blu Ray?
I work at Best Buy, In Home Theather and I get asked this question daily.

It doesnt depend so much on the player, it depends on the TV. You need to purchase a GOOD 1080p HD TV. Top of the line product in LCDs: Sony, Samsung Sharp. Plasma: Poineer, Panasonic, and Samsung.

But heres something to consider,

*Blockbuster will only be renting HD DVDs in future.

* HD DVD players are cheaper than Blu Ray

* And there ARE combination players but they cost around $1000-$1200
Reply:Blu Ray!

Warner Bros has joined Blu-ray and the only reason other companies joined HD-DVD was because they had a multi- millionare incentive so it seems HD-DVD is very desperate to stay alive.
Reply:Blu Ray! Because Warner just switched to exlusively deal with Blu Ray. Plus the TV show LOST is on blu ray.
Reply:BR for me
Reply:to me i personaly like the blu-ray but it dosent have that big of titles but i think hd-dvd is better between the battle becuase i dont think that blu-ray will last as long as hd-dvd because look at all the movies that has came out for the hd-dvd compered to the blu-ray player yeah thats alot of movies compared to the to players
Reply:Blu-Ray all the way =)! n some big coorp just went exclusive for BR... I can't recall which one though...does anybody knows?
Reply:I still use Beta Max. It rocks!!
Reply:Although Blu Ray probably is better than HD DVD in terms of both surround sound and capability, I still think HD DVD is the better choice. There are far more choices of movies with HD DVD, and I really don't think Blu Ray is going to last as long.
Reply:hd dvd, the name sounds good.
