Yet another evolution question?

Evolution is science, it was built on the same factual science the created your computer, your electricity, your advil you take when you have a headache, the car you drive, and your glasses/contact lens/hearing aids. NONE of those would exist without science. Now, just because evolution doesn't agree with Genesis (the most loosely written book of the bible that the past and present Pope have said not to take literally), some christians are up in arms b/c this threatens your belief in God. So, even though you use all the previously mentioned consumer goods (that are a direct product of scientific research and development within it's fields) you reject the science of evolution? You can't pick and choose to believe some science and not believe other sciences. All the fields of science are connected, including evolution with connections in chemistry, physics, biology, geology, etc. So why do you not believe in evolution? If you do believe in it, then tell me I'm not crazy.....

Yet another evolution question?
Great post, but you can't expect people who don't use science as a way to gain knowledge to listen to your science. It's like telling someone directions in English when they speak Spanish. Your directions are correct, but they don't understand.

Science even brought us the last treatment for TB, which evolved form it's early forms to be resistant to our old treatments.
Reply:Why not? They can pick and choose which Bible verses have to be taken literally and which have to be "interpreted"
Reply:Given that Christians cherry-pick between the two text of the bible, is it any wonder that they cherry-pick in this instance?!
Reply:Evolution is not something to be believed in; it is a scientific fct whether or not you believe in it.
Reply:The simple answer is that it would mean changing their beliefs, and they can't do that unless the church changes it for them.
Reply:Evolution is SCIENCE, religion is not. Those two should not be mixed. Evolution is based on scientific facts.

"Tell the average Christian that oatmeal will make you invisible and he will require proof, and believe you as far as the proof provides. Tell him the book [Bible] he reads was written by an invisible deity and every word in it is law, and he will believe you instantly."
Reply:Evolution is a theory at best. DNA is the best proof that life was created not evolved. DNA is not a code, but a program for building life, and there is no code or program written without a programmer. We accept that Bill Gates hires thousands of intelligent programmers to produce windows, and that random binary code would ever produce a workable program.

That is exactly what evolutionists say happended with life. Random chemicals came togeather over time to form amino acids that became protein chains that became life.

We would not accept such an explanation for a computer program, but we are asked to accept this for life, and DNA, a far more complex and intricate process.

I would say it takes far more faith to believe in evolution than in God
Reply:I think one can reconcile science and religion. I would interpret the things in Genesis not literary but simbolic and that way we can accept the scientific findings and at the same time know that evolution did happen but all the laws and the creation was made by God, just not exactly the way that appears in the Genesis but through evolution. There are laws in nature that means there is a law maker, there is order that means there is an Ordainer, the is intelligence that means someone thought and created all those things that science is discovering in nature.
Reply:LOL you will cause yourself to have a stroke if you invest emotion into whether the fanatics accept the evidence or not.

It is like telling a 5 year old they can't eat candy all the time because they will develop a weight problem.

The child doesn't care that you are trying to teach them about the facts of life (or that you are not completely removing the candy from their life just trying to get them to refine their view of it) only that you seem to be taking away something that brings them comfort and pleasure.
Reply:The "scholar" is starting from a false premise and building a case around it.
Reply:Sorry, no evolution. Not real, can't be proven. No hard evidence, only your desire so that you can say, see, no God, God is real, creation is real.
Reply:Not crazy... confused. you speak of the sciences but recognize that science is based on laws, laws that have existed from the beginning... man is only now beginning to unravel the complexities of the simplest wonders in nature. Can man create life... or simply try and explainit with a scientific theory that is shot full of holes. Back up to your god Mr. Darwin and have him explain the human genome which he thought to be nothing but a substance common to all life. Get real... your theories are no better than my faith. My faith remains based on the word of God that has existed for thousands of years... yours changes every fifteen minutes.
Reply:Christians believe God cuz He never lies...
