Sherwin Williams or Valspar (Lowes) paint?!?

I previously did research %26amp; heard alot of good things regarding Lowes Valspar (previously American Traditions -I believe) paint from people %26amp; Consumer reports. Problem is, I just saw about 4 paint colors in a furniture store that I already wanted to use %26amp; they're the PERFECT shade. Whomever is familiar with both paints please help!

Sherwin Williams or Valspar (Lowes) paint?!?
Both are good. In Northern Illinois, we have Farm %26amp; Fleet, which sells their name brand paint supplied by Valspar. I tried it and I don't think I'd use anything else. I have had good results from Sherwin Williams before, although at a higher price.

I can't comment on Benjamin Moore...never tried it.
Reply:I am a huge fan of Sherwin Williams. I have a local Lowe's but no local Sherwin Williams I think it's worth it to drive to the next town for a better quality paint. While the Sherwin Williams may cost a bit more per gallon I have found it saves money by having to apply fewer coats. I have never had to apply more than one actually. The last time I used Valspar it was a nightmare and eventually ended up having to be redone. Hope this helps
Reply:I use Valspar every time. It coats very evenly and only takes one coat. There is nothing better than realizing half way through painting that it is going faster than you expected.
Reply:Definately sherwin Williams...valspar is not what it is made out to be..it may not peel but it chalks up and spots out on you after awhile..plus the fact that at lowes you never get another exact match with them if you need more later on..they are inconsistant with thier matching..no matter if it was purchased from them originally...When one of the paint people there have thier days off..they are subject to have someone from plumbing or the garden center mixng your paint for you..I am a 37 year experienced painter...and have had lowes mess my paint up a few times..as well as customers that have already purchsed this junk....
Reply:I've used them both. I used SW on the exterior of my home simply because I want it to last longer (of course)! But for interior I used the less expensive brand. Besides, ya know you'll want to change it in the future.
Reply:Check with Consumer Reports, they have rated Behr and Gliden Paints on the high end for quality and durability.
Reply:I've never used bnejamin moore paint, but I can tell you that I like to use Sherwin Williams b/c they have "greensure" products - Duration Home %26amp; Harmony - that are better for the environment.

Reply:sherwin williams is a much higher quality paint and this is why,

they use better ingrediants and more titanium, that makes the finish last longer, doesn't sag while applying and gives better coverage. it takes more coats of the lesser quality ( i didn't want to say crappy !) paints and this takes twice as long to finish the job. i painted a house in Naples fl with super-paint from SW 6 years ago and the following year with BM's best. the benny moore needs to be re-done and the SW still looks new !
