What political group/ideology do I belong to?

Rundown: I support a strong federal government that has supreme power over all states and has the power to do what it needs to protect the nation and its people, even from themselves. I support strong interventionist foreign policy and a realistic, pragmatic approach to international relations- no Wilsonianism for me, Kissinger all the way. Economically, I myself am middle of the road, perhaps more below than anything, and I support tax cuts on the poor. However, from what I know of economics, taxing the wealthy and, more importantly, taxing the corporations themselves simply defers costs onto the consumer and raises the general price of goods. Thus, I suppose I support all around tax cuts. Likewise, I believe NAFTA hurts the US...haven't done enough research.. I prefer private industry with government supervision because govts. are inefficient at spending money compared to private corps. I support a strong military and would never cut the military spending unless absolutely necessary

What political group/ideology do I belong to?
Moderate Democrat.
Reply:Hmm... I guess most would call you a moderate overall, because you don't clearly fit into the boxes and I would add some of your positions are potentially contradictory - e.g., a strong federal govt is not only against what the founders wanted, but also tends to result in big govt, lots of regulation, and high taxes. Overall, NAFTA and GATT help the USA, though not necessarily when it comes to specific people/industries.

To classify you more properly, you'd need to chime in on social issues, like abortion and gay marriage - you don't mention these, which may be an oversight, or because they're not important to you.

You might try the world's smallest political quiz: http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html
Reply:Without meaning to offend you, I'd say you are confused and suggest educating yourself in order to acquire a deeper and more clear understanding and perspective...and if you are at all concerned with a more just world, I suggest you do your exploring within the moral context of the Golden Rule.
Reply:realistic and pragmatic are the same thing....who cares if the price of goods goes up, people should not be buying a bunch of crap anyway...that is one thing our country needs protection from themselves on....overspending on meaningless crap.....as far as your question, i do not know, you seem to be mostly democratic to me, but some of the things you are for, democrats are not
