Canon PowerShot SD 1100 VS Olympus Stylus 840?

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_sectio...

Both have their pros, neither really have cons. The Olympus has some really nice features, more optical zoom, panorama mode, and dual image stabilization, whereas the Canon only has optical image stabilization. But a Canon is a Canon and that speaks for itself.

Please check the sites and read/research a little before you state out your opinion. Also let me know if you own one of the 2... or an earlier model of the 2. I am torn between the 2 and would like some helpful opinions/input on the matter. Thanks!

MY ADVICE AND VERDICT:SD1100 AND SD 870IS ARE EXCELLENT .

but SD870IS is slightly better than SD 1100 in terms of looks, sleekness, flash recovery time, lcd quality and canon SD870IS is also known as IXUS 860IS ixus are finnest series of canon and around this budget 200-270$ it excels in its own innovative way .

hope u decide the best read all expert reviews from alatest links given by me and then decide, i hope u like canon power shot SD870 IS
Reply:Well, I am a Canon fanboy, owned a different canon every year for the last 8 years, and loved them all. So you definitely can't go wrong with the 1100 (I have the SD800 and it is great)

But I read about the Stylus 840 and that sounds pretty excellent as well.

So I don't know, flip a coin?

Have you had either brand before?

Maybe there is one particular feature on one of them that fascinates you the most?

Maybe you could buy them both from a retailer that will let you return one or the other with no restocking fee, try them out for a week and see if you like one better than the other?

It sure looks like you would be very happy with either choice.

Good luck and have fun. Buy one sooner, not later, so you can start saving memories ASAP.
